Promotional Gifts Made from LEGO Bricks

How it all began.

Do you have any questions about this topic, or are you interested in custom models made from building blocks?

Sometimes a business doesn't start with a business plan, but with an old LEGO Technic set from childhood.

For me, it was the desire to own one particular model again: the LEGO Technic 8853 Bucket Wheel Loader.
That search quickly turned into something more. First, more old LEGO sets were added; then came bundles from flea markets, online platforms, friends, and acquaintances. And before I knew it, there weren’t just a few boxes lying around anymore—there were quite a few. A whole lot.
Of course, everything was diligently sorted. Over and over again, and always in a different way. By color, shape, size, category, and using systems that seemed brilliant at first but turned out to be completely impractical after two weeks. Anyone who plays with LEGO probably knows this: The perfect storage box is always just one order away.
Over time, the bricks kept piling up. And at some point, the question arose: What was I actually going to do with all those bricks? Giving them away was out of the question—not even the scratched, yellowed, or gnawed-on ones. Somehow, every brick still had its purpose.

From Collecting to the First Promotional Gift

The real impetus came from my work at an agency. One day, the question came up as to whether someone could come up with a small giveaway to make a client happy.
Who better for the job than someone with boxes full of LEGO® bricks? So I sat down that evening and, the next morning, presented my first MOC—“My Own Creation”—to my boss. A small, neat model and the start of something new.
For the first time, the many used bricks had a real purpose: building prototypes, testing ideas, and trying out different construction techniques. Suddenly, it all made sense, and my personal collection became a practical tool.

When the initial euphoria gave way to reality

However, after conducting some initial research to determine whether this idea could actually be turned into a business model, reality quickly set in.
There have been discussions on many forums about building large quantities of custom models out of LEGO® bricks—and people have generally advised against it. Too much effort. Too complicated to source the parts. Too few units. Too many special cases. And yes, that’s not entirely wrong.
A custom LEGO® set doesn’t just happen on its own. The number of pieces, delivery time, part availability, packaging, logo, corporate design, instructions, and shipping all have to come together. And this is exactly where my experience and know-how from the agency world came in handy. Marketing, design, production, and sales weren’t just buzzwords—they were part of my daily craft. So, little by little, I created more small models and a simple one-page website.
At first, nothing happened. It wasn’t until a few months later that the first inquiries started to come in. And that made it clear: there is a demand. Companies are looking for high-quality, custom-designed promotional gifts that do more than just attract attention for a short time.

How "raabrick" came to be

At some point, balancing everything became increasingly difficult. Working at the agency during the day and designing LEGO® models at night was exciting at first, but eventually it started to take its toll. Especially with two young children at home, where a full night’s sleep was more of a theoretical concept than a reality.

So the decision was made to take the plunge and professionally develop promotional items made from LEGO® bricks. Not as a quick idea, but as a genuine full-time business focused on quality, original parts, and custom models for companies.

Today, we develop promotional items, corporate gifts made from original LEGO® bricks—from the initial idea through the digital model to UV printing, packaging, assembly, and delivery.

And yes, I’ll admit it. I still haven’t completely let go of my past in the agency world. Despite AI being everywhere, the expertise I’ve gained from over 20 years of video production is still there. Every now and then, I even get to put it to use again. It’s a nice change of pace, after all.

Conclusion: Great promotional gifts made with LEGO bricks don't happen by chance

For us, custom building bricks items are more than just a fun gimmick. They combine creativity, branding, the joy of building, and high quality.

What began as a personal passion for LEGO has now become a professional service for businesses. And perhaps that is precisely the most important point:

We’re not doing this simply because building bricks are popular. We’re doing it because LEGO bricks have been part of our lives for many years—and they still inspire us today.
